Notes:
XY5 is just fun just to mess around with. You can
change volume, pitch, timbre and modulation. Some musicians may
find it strange at first to have no fixed semitones.
- Use any computer key (but not the space bar) to start/stop the sound.
- Left panel controls volume and pitch of main note.
- Right panel controls speed and amount of LFO
modulation (e.g. vibrato).
- Choice of different wave shapes under each panel.
- Changing settings:
- Click or drag in pad areas (both settings at once)
- Drag knob up or down - moving further right gives finer control (one setting).
- Type numbers into boxes and hit Return.
- Two memories per panel for instant recall
Just for fun, see if you can make settings/performances
for any of these titles:
- A small fly buzzing aimlessly around the room
- A burglar alarm going off
- A telephone ringing
- The sound that ghosts make
- Laughter
- Police 'nee-naw' going past
- Flying saucer taking off
- A seasick seagull
- A death-ray beam
- A healing beam in a hospital
- Lorry reversing warning
- A robot making a speech
- A robot gone berserk
- An opera singer wailing
- A budgie chirping
- Feeling giddy
